TBI Launched out Library program at Ward Island on Jun 18

Toronto Brigantine is participate in the Toronto Public Libraries Summer Reading Program – the them is SPLASH!  TBI is presenting over 20 programs at various libraries this summer – including three different aspects of the tall ship sailing experience including Sea Shanties, Learning the Ropes and Navigation on a tall ship.

We launched our “Sailors Wanted” outreach program with the Toronto Public Library at a port side event at Ward Island dock on June 18, 2011.

Pathfinder came over to the Island to join the TPL Bookmobile for this launch event where over 50 residents and visitors to Ward Island  had the opportunity to tour the boat while we were there.  Unfortunately … there wasn’t a lot of wind that day.

Bookmobile librarian Betty Cameron (waving) and children’s program coordinator with the library, Dian Borek, Acting Senior Services Specialist, Children and Youth,  (in the straw hat) were onboard for the event!

Toronto Brigantine  will be hosting a Sea Shanties session on Ward Island  on Jun 18, 2011 from 10:30 to noon – we will be meeting at the  Toronto Public Library Bookmobile and look forward to seeing you all there again.
