TBI Does Sea Shanties at the Library this summer

Jeff Weed has signed up to coordinate the Sea Shanty programs as part of the Toronto Brigantine outreach program with the Toronto Public Library’s Summer Reading program.

Here is a picture of of Jeff Weed at his first session at the Toronto Public Library Wychwood branch on July 13. He is all decked out with his Toronto Brigantine T-Shirt – a walking bill board for Toronto Brigantine.

[Note: Toronto Brigantine T-Shirts are available for purchase at Nautical Mind book store  on Queen’s Quay in Toronto – if you want to get a TBI T-Shirt of your own. Nautical Mind has also been long time supporters of Toronto Brigantine’s tall ship based youth sail training program.]

Jeff Weed is a parent of several TBI alumni over the years including Matt, Kezia and Rhys Weed. Jeff is a Morris dancer and member of Toronto Morris Men, and he and his wife Joan, love music of all kinds, particularly folk music.

Thanks to Jeff Weed for roping in other “sea shanty lovers” like John Mayberry to help deliver the 11 Sea Shanty sessions at various Toronto Public Libraries this summer including another session with the TPL Bookmobile on Saturday August 13 (this time no boats since they are out on Georgian Bay this summer).

For the schedule of upcoming TBI sessons at the Library this summer, check the schedule here.
