Course 2 Summer 2011 goes through four of the Great Lakes

COURSE #2: Outward Bound- Lake Erie to Georgian Bay (Port Dover to Midland)

Summer 2011 Course #2 starts out from Port Dover.

Here are some other pictures that Toronto Brigantine fan took of the boats on July 4th while they were in Port Dover – where Course 1 ended and Course 2 began.   Great shots.

Here is a picture of the sail off from the dock this year, and the start of Course #2 after the new trainees complete the orientation, watch assignments and safety drills.

The boats then exit Lake Erie, the shallowest of the Great Lakes, and follow the Great Lakes water system north through Lake St. Clair and emerge into beautiful Lake Huron.

The boats will continue north around the top of the Bruce Peninsula and cross beautiful Georgian Bay  arriving in historic Midland, Ontario by July 13th.

In just 10 days, the boats will have sailed three of the Great Lakes – starting from Lake Erie, Lake St Clair, Lake Huron and Georgian Bay (if you count Georgian Bay as the sixth Great Lake that is).

Departing: Monday, July 4th Arriving: Wednesday, July 13th Duration: 10 days
