TBI’s movie nights from 1966

The idea of a brigintine sail training program for Toronto youth was inspired from the movie “Windjammer“.

On Mar 11, 1966, Toronto Brigantine hosted two evenings of films and sea yarns.  Captain Irving Johnson joined in on the evenings at Ryerson Theatre.  The films were “Sailing Adventures” and “Yankee Sails the Mediterranean”. The tickets were $2.50!

Since then, TBI has hosted many a fundraising event showing movies about tall ships. And we will likely do many more.
