Toronto’s Junior League [including Mrs John Austin, Mrs Barrie Mercer, Mrs N W Gooderham (chairman of the water safety committee), Mrs W G Kingsmill (Junior League President), and Mrs Maurice Anderson] and others came down to Pathfinder at Pier 6. The guests included George Bell, Toronto Parks Commission, Harry Kimber, Harbor Commissioner, Ernest Taylor of Ontario Safey Lead, M A mcMarten of the Red Cross, and Lloyd Johnson of St John Ambulance as well as other Boating safety officials at various trade associations.
This luncheon was the League’s second annual better boating and water safety salute at Exhibition Park and the launch of Water Safety Week, sponsored by the Canadian Red Cross.
