On Jan 9, 2011 Toronto Brigantine’s Winter Program participants did a tour of Algoma Central Corporations self un-loader, “Peter R Cresswell” when it was docked for the winter in Hamilton Harbour. Guy Cloutier, a Toronto Brigantine Board Member helped to organize the event.
The Peter R Cresswell is a self-un-loader, owned by Algoma Central Corporations of St Catharines and operated and management by Seaway Marine Transport. . It transports salt, stone, aggregrates, coal and iron for various destinations on the Great Lakes and St Lawrence Seaway. It is 730 feet long, just a little bit longer than TBI’s Brigantines at 72 feet

On February 27, 2011, TBI Officers visited the Cuyahoga, a Lower Lakes Towing vessel, docked in the Hamilton Harbour for the winter.
The next ship visit is scheduled for Mar 27, 2011 when TBI Officers will go on a tour of the Historic James Norris while she is docked in Toronto Harbour for the winter.
The Algoma Central Corporation is the corporate sponsor for a Scholarship program that is offered to Toronto Brigantine Ward Room. The Algoma Scholarship is for TBI alumni that pursue post secondary education at a Marine studies program. Algoma also provides support and funding for some of TBI Officer training initiatives.
